Kodiak Alaska Hunting
This is quite simply an outdoorsman’s paradise
Welcome to 4B’s Alaska, where hunting and fishing adventures aboard the F/V Venturess are anything but ordinary. Based out of Kodiak and Homer, AK, we offer all-inclusive, vessel-based hunts for Sitka Blacktail Deer, Black Bear, and Sea Ducks in some of the most remote and stunning parts of Alaska. As a licensed Alaskan transporter, we specialize in providing safe, legal access to remote country while allowing you to experience a true DIY hunt. The Venturess serves as your floating base camp, comfortable, safe, and fully outfitted with everything you need for a successful trip, from wide walkaround decks and gourmet meals to bunk space for 12 and top-of-the-line navigation and safety gear.
Whether you’re trekking the rugged coastlines of Kodiak in pursuit of trophy Sitka Blacktail, glassing the Kenai Peninsula for Black Bear, or adding Sea Duck hunting to your fall trip, you’ll have access to prime, unpressured terrain that is inaccessible to traditional drop-off operations. With easy skiff access to remote beaches and a healthy population of mature bucks, these hunts are a favorite for return clients. You will also have the chance to fill your freezer with what many consider the best-tasting venison around, or reel in halibut, salmon, and rockfish between hunts.
Our seasons run from April through December, with prime opportunities for bear in the spring and a mix of deer, ducks, and fishing in the fall. Non-hunting guests are welcome as well. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind Alaskan adventure with no hidden fees, top-tier service, and access to untouched wilderness, let 4B’s Alaska show you what a week aboard the Venturess is all about.
What Is an Alaskan Transporter?
An Alaskan transporter is a licensed, professional operator who provides transportation for compensation—typically via aircraft, boat, or specialized vehicle—to move hunters, their gear, and harvested game to and from remote, off-road locations. Unlike guides, they do not assist in hunting, scouting, or skinning, but facilitate logistics in compliance with state regulations.
Key aspects of an Alaskan transporter include:
- Role Distinction: They are strictly transporters, not hunting guides.
- Logistical Support: Used by DIY hunters for moose, caribou, and bear.
- Regulation & Licensing: Licensed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
- Types: Air taxi, boat operators, and limited horse or ATV operators.
- Required Documentation: Written, signed transportation contract required.
My boys and came on this trip to fish and bear hunt. The entire trip was amazing and the bear hunting was amazing as well. This is the perfect trip for fishing and bear hunting. I brought my boys which are 12,11. I would highly recommend this trip. I’ve been to Alaska several times with the boys and with friends. This was by far my favorite trip as well as the boys favorite. Travis and his crew is great and provided an all around great trip. Thanks!!!
Jesse MartinezIf you’re thinking about booking a trip with 4B’s Alaska – DO IT! You won’t be disappointed. We just got back from our first hunt with them, and I truly hope it won’t be our last. This is a top-notch operation in every way-communication, crew, boat, food, hospitality, and overall experience. Most importantly, Travis (the captain and owner) and his crew have an incredible amount of experience hunting in this area. Even with less-than-perfect weather, Travis always had a plan to keep us in good conditions. We had a successful hunt for both deer and ducks, and it was an unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to Susan, Travis, JJ, and Garrett for the trip of a lifetime-we’re already looking forward to the next one!
